
Katarni Rice
Ingredients:
- Katarni rice – 1 cup
- Water – 2.5 to 3 cups
- Salt – optional
- Ghee – 1 tsp (optional, for aroma and richness
How to Make: Steps
1.Rinse the Rice: Rinse Katarni rice 2–3 times under cold water to remove excess starch.
2.Soak it for 20–30 minutes for better cooking.
3.Boil the Water In a pot or pan, bring 2.5 to 3 cups of water to a boil.
4.Add a pinch of salt if desired.
5.Add Rice. Add the soaked and drained rice to the boiling water.
6.Stir once to avoid sticking.
7.Cook Cover with a lid. Simmer on low heat for 15–18 minutes or until the rice is soft and cooked.
8.Do not over-stir. Finish Once done, turn off the heat.
9.Let it sit for 5 minutes. Fluff the rice gently with a fork.
Add a tsp of ghee for aroma.
