
Chana Sattu Savoury Drink
Ingredients:
- Sattu (roasted gram flour): 2 tablespoons
- Water: 1 cup (chilled or at room temperature)
- Lemon juice: 1 tablespoon (adjust to taste)
- Salt: 1/2 teaspoon (or as per taste)
- Black salt: 1/4 teaspoon (optional, for flavor)
- Cumin powder (roasted): 1/2 teaspoon
- Chopped green chili: 1 small (optional, for spice)
- Fresh coriander leaves: 1 tablespoon (finely chopped)
- Grated ginger: 1/2 teaspoon (optional, for a zing)
How to make : Steps
- Prepare the Base: In a bowl or a glass, mix the sattu with 2-3 tablespoons of water to make a smooth, lump-free paste. This ensures the flour blends evenly.
- Add Water: Gradually pour in the remaining water while stirring continuously to achieve a smooth consistency.
- Season the Drink: Add salt, black salt (if using), roasted cumin powder, grated ginger, and chopped green chili. Mix well.
- Add Lemon Juice: Squeeze in the lemon juice and stir to combine. Adjust the amount of lemon juice to balance the tanginess.
- Garnish: Sprinkle finely chopped coriander leaves on top for freshness.
- Serve: Pour the drink into a glass and serve immediately. You can add a few ice cubes for a chilled version.
