Chana Sattu Savoury Drink

Ingredients:

  • Sattu (roasted gram flour): 2 tablespoons
  • Water: 1 cup (chilled or at room temperature)
  • Lemon juice: 1 tablespoon (adjust to taste)
  • Salt: 1/2 teaspoon (or as per taste) 
  • Black salt: 1/4 teaspoon (optional, for flavor) 
  • Cumin powder (roasted): 1/2 teaspoon 
  • Chopped green chili: 1 small (optional, for spice) 
  • Fresh coriander leaves: 1 tablespoon (finely chopped) 
  • Grated ginger: 1/2 teaspoon (optional, for a zing)


How to make : Steps

  1. Prepare the Base: In a bowl or a glass, mix the sattu with 2-3 tablespoons of water to make a smooth, lump-free paste. This ensures the flour blends evenly.
  2. Add Water: Gradually pour in the remaining water while stirring continuously to achieve a smooth consistency.
  3. Season the Drink: Add salt, black salt (if using), roasted cumin powder, grated ginger, and chopped green chili. Mix well.
  4. Add Lemon Juice: Squeeze in the lemon juice and stir to combine. Adjust the amount of lemon juice to balance the tanginess.
  5. Garnish: Sprinkle finely chopped coriander leaves on top for freshness.
  6. Serve: Pour the drink into a glass and serve immediately. You can add a few ice cubes for a chilled version.
